शैले शैले न माणिक्यं मौक्तिकं न गजे गजे। साधवो न हि सर्वत्र चन्दनं न वने वने॥
न प्रत्येक पर्वत पर मणि-माणिक्य ही प्राप्त होते हैं न प्रत्येक हाथी के मस्तक से मुक्ता-मणि प्राप्त होती है। संसार में मनुष्यों की कमी न होने पर भी साधु पुरुष नहीं मिलते । इसी प्रकार सभी वनों में चन्दन के वृक्ष उपलब्ध नही होते।
